The club would like to all of our players, supporters & sponsors would their help & support during our first season at the new Castle Hill ground which has proved to be a fantastic success. We hope to see you all again next season.

Tickets for the senior presentation evening held at The Falcon Hotel on 12th November are now on sale, as is a 2011 UTCC calendar featuring many of the clubs teams & costing only £10.

The 2nd's beat Bretton at home on Sunday to win their fifth game in a row & finish 3rd in the final league table. Report.

On Saturday the Northants team won their final game of the season away at Horton House & are promoted as champions. Despite some of the opposition in the league not being of a great standard, you can only play the team that turns up on the day & as you have to enter the league in the lowest division & play against other clubs 3rd & 4th teams that was always going to be the case. Well done to Jamie & his small squad of players. Job done.

U17 Somerset Tour.

The Junior Presentation evening up at the club featured guests including Ged McDougall & Laura Joyce from the Leicestershire & Rutland Cricket Board & ex England Ladies Player Laura Newton from the ECB. There was also a good turn-out from parents for the final junior evening of the year.

The U17's beat Moulton Harrox at Bourne's Abbey Lawns ground in the final of the Vogal Cup. Report.

The U15's continued the clubs youth successes this season with victory over  Stamford in the final of the cup competition held at Ketton CC.

The Burrough league team beat Ashby Carrington to become league champions & be promoted to division 1 next season.

The U13's were confirmed champions of their division in the Border Counties league after comfortable victory of local rivals Oakham.

Available from the club, Kev Bennett or Jamie Dumford.

Local weather provided by the UCC Weather Station.

Despite the weather on Monday 30th May, the official opening went ahead but unfortunately no cricket was possible. Mike Turner MBE, a key figure in securing funds for the club, performed the opening ceremony which was watched by a good crowd standing out in the rain.

The club would like everyone that has supported our project which has resulted in a fantastic sporting facility for the town.      More pictures here.

The club hosted an 'international' fixture recently when a team from Norway visited the club. Very enthusiastic cricketers, the Norwegians were just not quite good enough to cause the likes of John & Mickey Clarke, John Tilley & Mark Barnett any problems & Uppingham recorded an easy victory. International relations between the two countries were further cemented in the bar after the game & the Ducks are already planning to return next year.  www.bislettducks.no

The outdoor nets/practice nights have now begun with the U15's, U17's & seniors  on Wednesdays & on Thursdays the U9 - U13's. Both evenings begin at 6.30pm & will of course be at our new Castle Hill ground. All players new & old, boys & girls are very welcome to come along & have a look at our new facilities. The girls coaching will be taken by James Booth.

We are asking our members, supporters, companies, local businesses etc to sponsor a brick for our ‘Wall of Support’. The wall will feature in a prominent position in the new pavilion.

You are free to have wording of your choice (subject to the clubs approval) on  your brick & you are not restricted to having just one brick.

Each brick costs a minimum of £50 but you may donate more if you wish.

We really hope that you’ll be able to support the club in the final stages of our project.
Every pound we can raise now will help us provide a top-class sporting facility.

Application forms are available from Kev Bennett, Charlie Scott, Dick Reeve or Neil Wedge. More Details here.

Uppingham Town become 1000th Clubmark Club.

We would like to take this opportunity of thanking all of our 2011 sponsors & hope that we can look forward to your continued support in 2012. Any new sponsors of the club would be very welcome as we look to build for the future..

We are a Focus Club & we have now also gained ECB ClubMark accreditation whereby we have demonstrated that we are fully equipped in every sense to look after youngsters and promote cricket to the youth of the community.

To comply with ClubMark regulations we have a Child Welfare Officer and we ensure that sufficient qualified coaches and supplementary     helpers are always available to look after all of our colts.

All of our coaches and helpers have undergone Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) checks and all coaches have taken first aid courses in addition to their level 1 or 2 cricket coaching courses.

You can rest assured that your children are in safe hands at the club.

We are looking to find out as much about the clubs history as possible. If  you have any old documents, photographs etc that relate to the club that we could have, or have copies of, please pass them on to a committee member.

Any early memories or stories about the club would also be of great interest. Many thanks to club president the late Peter Scott for his contribution.

If any club captains or officials have any reports or information that they would like posted on the site, please send it to me at kevbennett@uppinghamtowncc.co.uk  (Ideally in Word or Excel formats).
