Uppingham Town Cricket Club

The new season might be months away but that has not deterred Uppingham Towns Cricket Clubs Committee & members from getting busy this winter.

The Rutland club are one of this year's NatWest Cricket Force  registered  clubs and have started work on the development of their new Leicester Road ground, so will have lots of work to do as they still have to maintain their existing facilities for the next few years in addition to all the work needed on the new ground.

Although the NatWest event is not officially until the 3rd, 4th & 5th of April 2009, Uppingham have been busy since early January. The club have already been very well supported by their supporters & local businesses & the local parish council but are always grateful  of any help from the local community.

NatWest Cricket Force encourages cricket supporters, their friends and families to give something back to their local community cricket club by volunteering to undertake major renovations to clubhouses and grounds. NatWest Cricket Force 2008 attracted a record 1375 clubs (225 up on 2007), 85,000 volunteers (5,000 up on 2007) and an estimated £35-£40 million in cash and kind (an increase of up to £5million on the previous year).
